"Soham - Je suis cela" <br> Mantras et Priéres en français
It might seem as if I'm releasing a new album each month now :) But this is not going to happen, I could never afford that...
Let me tell you the story behind the french CD.
My sisters and me all have french names, so you can imagine that my parents loved France and all that goes with it. We often went to France for holidays and later I went to a bilingual school with the focus on english and french. When I came to Vienna for my studies, I decided to study french for a year. Then I went to Toulouse as an Au Pair and took care of three boys.
When I was singing the Asato Ma Sad Gamaya, I felt that there was no other language but french to capture the beauty of the words. So on the first album, there was one french track.
Working on the second album, I was singing the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra to Thomas in french, because again I felt that the language went so well with the words. When he heard it, he said that it sounds so beautiful with the french that we should consider making an album with french tracks only. I loved the idea.
So what we did is this: We took all the Mantras from the first and second CD that had english lyrics, like Lokah Samastah, Soham, Gate Gate... and instead of the english lyrics I was singing french lyrics. Somehow the energy is quite different in french, very beautiful. Yet the CD feels like a twin sister from "Jay Maa" and "Gate Gate."
All three albums are available now on my website for download and to order via mail.
Especially in these times of political turmoil, war, terror attacks, leaking pipelines and climate change, many times I wonder what I can do to help. What am I supposed to do?
And I always come back to meditation, surrendering myself to somethig bigger than my small mind, chanting Mantras and asking for help to show me the next step. That might not seem such a big thing to do, but I realize more and more that it's actually the only thing I can do. I love the Serenity Prayer, because I can apply it to all situations I'm in:
"God give us the grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed.
Courage to change the things that can be changed.
And the wisdom to know the difference."
I also love doing the Ho'oponopono meditation, it's very strong and effective.
We are the World. If we manage to change ourselves and our approach, we manage to change the world.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas with lots of time for meditation and chanting!!
If you happen to be in Vienna for the new Year: We will have a Special event with Kirtan and Mantras on December 31st, because it is always such a nice way to let go of everything that has happened and welcome all the new things to come.
Would love to see you somewhere sometime in the new year!
Big Hug, Renée
